The first Clojure-conj is many things. But most of all, it is a big "Thank You" to all of the early adopters, craftsmen and craftswomen who have been making Clojure and the Clojure community awesome.
If nothing else, Clojure-conj is a way to gather that community in one place and relish the feeling of being there at the beginning. On top of that, we hope the gathering will further bind our community together to propel Clojure forward as the kind of tool we all want to use to solve the hard problems in front of us.
Finally, this is our flag in the ground, a "barbaric yawp" to the skies that Clojure is here, and real, and awesome. We hope you'll come and join the party.
