Description:
DI, SRP…the list goes on. A lot of podcasts and articles toss these terms and acronyms around like political promises during an election year. It's almost like developers have their own secret language, and in a way we do. Sure it's not as sexy sounding as French, or as distinct as, say, Klingon, but it's definitely a dialect all of our own. Software principles, along with patterns, help define a ubiquitous language that all developers can share-- even across platforms! If you aren't familiar with the acronyms mentioned come listen to an introduction to these concepts (Dependency Inversion, Single Responsibility Principle) and a few more. All the code will be in C#/VB.NET; however, these concepts can easily be applied elsewhere.
