It left me wanting more, in both bad and good ways. On one hand, I was pretty engaged. On the other hand, most of what I learned about JRuby was already expressed in the sentence in the talk's description: "Learn how JRuby and the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) can improve various aspects of your Ruby application, including faster execution speed, better database performance, new garbage collection strategies, access to GPU programming, and the run-time management of production applications." We were told these things were true, but without a lot of detail or a lot of coverage of the realities of actually putting this stuff to work.
