Description:
The Simpsons has been on TV for 20 years, longer than many of us have been in the User Experience field, and they have been continuously ahead of their time as it relates to UX, by way of poking fun of it by doing things oh-so-wrong. Discover the lessons that The Simspons have taught us about the dangers of bad design, bad UX methods, and why you shouldn't stand in the way of a t-shirt cannon.
And yes, we will watch clips from the show! For educational purposes only! Not entertainment! Patent-pending!

The pace was a little bit slow, I guess it was the migraine. I like the QA session best, had better ideas of how theories are applied in different real world situations. Would've been greater if there were more episodes shown, but did open a whole new perspective of watching Simpsons for me.

Matthew's presentation had plenty of great points, and the Simpsons video clips definitely brought some context (and laughter) into the mix. I would agree that the pace was a little slow, and the excitement level a bit low, but I have to cut him some slack due to the migraine he was dealing with (as I was fighting one off myself).
What I would've liked to have seen was some sort of summary at the beginning and the end, including key points and takeaways. Scott Berkun's presentation a few months ago made a point of this, and I think it's something we should all try to do in order to not only prepare our audience, but also to reinforce those points that we're trying to make.
One thing that I absolutely love about Matthew's approach to speaking is that he's always trying to connect with the audience. Before we started, he went around the room introducing himself to put a name to each face, and during his talk he did his best to involve folks without interruption.
Overall, his content was relevant and useful, and I feel like everyone came away with something to really think about in their work.

I think the idea of the presentation is a great one. There was no actual delivery, though, on the promise that "How Cromulent Design Would Make The Simpsons Less Funny" which left me making Marge's "Hrrmm..." sound. There must be specific connections to Simpsons situations, not just showing clips between points.
The slides need to be more solid, graphically, and hold up to being projected.
I think the premise is great, and I believe Matt has tremendous potential to share a great amount of knowledge. This particular presentation was just not far enough along, too rough at this point.
