jQTouch is a jQuery plugin for mobile app development on the iPhone and iPod Touch. It features native, hardware accelerated animations, a simple setup method, and easy theming capabilities. It recently won the 14 days of jQuery contest.
This will be an introduction to jQTouch, as well as an overview of some of the general features and benefits of mobile WebKit. We will look at how to build an iPhone-optimized web app using basic CSS/HTML and then enhance it using the custom callback methods provided. We will also briefly review the public functions available for jQTouch for advanced developers, as well as currently available extensions like Geo-location and making an app offline-accessible.
This presentation will coincide with the release of jQTouch beta 3, so we will also take a moment to look at some new features, transitions, and demos. The talk will conclude with a question and answer session focussed on mobile development.
