Obama has awoken a once in a century passion for reform. What will it take to make it work? What would "work" mean?

Larry Lessig is one of my personal heroes, and I don't say that about many people. His delivery is always spectacular, and his emphasis in on presenting the argument in as clear a manner as possible.
However, he took a bit of a sharp stance in his presentation in saying that his way was the only way to reform the government. He suggested that disallowing third-party contributions would decrease the impact of lobbyists, but he didn't truly address the solution to his own point that congress is the farm league for K-street. He seemed to claim at the end that the only point of this farm-league relationship was the ability for lobbyists to fund their trip back to the hill, but I don't buy that.
Had he included something along the lines of necessary pay increases for elected officials -- something that would make the money of K-street seem less signficant -- then I would have bought it. Or, had he not taken such a strong "my way or the highway" stance, this would have gotten an even higher rating.
