Around "Hello World" in 30 Days 4.17 http://spkr8.com/t/3692

Description:

A little over a month ago, feeling overwhelmed by all the new technology filling the pages of my favorite tech blogs, I decided to commit myself to spending an hour with a new technology every day for a month. In this talk, I'll share my experiences and explore the nature of motivation and what it takes to stay ahead of the programming curve. You can follow along at http://techmonth.tumblr.com.

I really enjoyed the talk David. I thought you did a good job of keeping the content middle-of-the-road given the diverse audience. The fact that you had a mic was a big plus for me on delivery, as you're pretty soft-spoken. I would have enjoyed even more discussion afterwards. Having a couple of follow-up questions of your own to ask/challenge the audience would have been a nice touch I think. Your visuals were a big plus as well. Thanks again.

Great talk - I was inspired to consider a few challenges I could tackle in 30 days. I was assuming it would be more technical so it was a nice surprise to find very little "nerd alert" content in there. The research you quoted about kids and learning was a high point for me, along with your slide set and sense of humor. I think quickly walking through a few examples of similar challenges by people outside of development might be a good addition (like the John Hicks thing you mention to help people think about the concept in broader terms. Thanks for sharing!
