Many of us come from an OO background before delving into Javascript. In a normal world, you'd think that this would have given us a solid foundation upon which to learn Javascript. As you know, this is not the case! Javascript's concepts are so foreign, it's like we're learning Greek after studying English for 20 years.

And sites like W3Schools aren't much help. Sites that cover the basics are about as effective at translating modern Javascript as babelfish is at translating colloquial Russian to English.

Now that I am a Javascript Ninja ("watch out, he's dangerous!"), I often laugh at others while they learn the seemingly wacky ways of Javascript, CSS, and even HTML. We've all been down that frustrating path. It's not just Java engineers!
