Intro to MVC 3 3.77 http://spkr8.com/t/5519

Description:

You embraced MVC 1 and MVC 2, and just like that, Microsoft has released yet another version of MVC. MVC 3 represents a bit of a departure from from MVC 1 and 2. At the same time however, MVC 3 remains true to its foundations. In this session, John will provide a primer on the new major new features. Special attention will focus on the Razor View Engine. In addition, John will demonstrate how much more streamlined dependency injection and model validation works.

Too detailed for an Introduction - big picture was not explained

Each main section lacked the setup / scenario. Why is 404 and 301 important? Why do i care about sessionless controllers? etc.. I've been using these things for ages, so i had pre-knowledge of both why and how .. but I reakon a newbie wouldn't have a clue and would get lost very quickly.

For example. 404 and 301's. Starting scenarios : how do u handle a missing page, like a product that doesn't exist? What happensif you have a live website and for some reason, need to change the routes to get to existing pages ... how can u tell the search engines to get magically updated? Then for each of those 2 scenarios, show the before and then after code.

For example #2. Show a web page that does 5 or more ajax requests. Add some time-wait lag in the core logic of each one to emphasis the syncronous nature. Explain sync vs sync. Show before-after code .. and now sum up that asyc is better user experience, baked by firebug proof.

.... HTH John :)
