Evolving Practices in Using jQuery and Ajax in ASP.NET MVC Applications 4.32 http://spkr8.com/t/5552

Description:

Since ASP.NET MVC was released, many of us have found that Ajax-rich applications are easier than ever to build on the ASP.NET platform. Over time I have learned some techniques and better practices through trial-and-error and the advice of smart developers. In this session I will show you things I have learned and practices I have started using more consistently in my own projects, at work and on the side, to build better, more consistent and more re-usable ajax functionality into my sites.

This is the first session of the conference I've ever attended. Love the fast pace. I love how you refactor showing the logic behind why you do things the way you do.

Nice job

A bit too much Q&A, but otherwise great!

Avatar-missing-icon-09 Craig Quillen, 08 Feb 03:13 PM

main problem was spent too much time on Q&A and ran out of time on content.

Avatar-missing-icon-03 Steve Lydford, 08 Feb 03:13 PM

Great session. I learned a lot. Many thanks.

Avatar-missing-icon-06 Nathan Donze, 08 Feb 03:15 PM

Great presenter; great content.

Ran out of time because of answering so many questions.

Ran out of time because of answering so many questions.

Thanks for the insight. Adjusting screen resolution instead of clicking RETURN to accept the alert box was the only thing that could have been better really. Excellent presentation.

Avatar-missing-icon-03 Michael Cox, 08 Feb 03:18 PM

Good info - a little rushed. Would have listened to it for another hour.

Avatar-missing-icon-01 Andreas Kroll, 08 Feb 03:20 PM

Too many questions, but that is a positive sign of a interesting topic.

Awesome presentation, could have listened for hours.

Avatar-missing-icon-07 Dan Pincas, 08 Feb 03:21 PM

Excellent presentation. Got a little caught up on answering too many questions.

Too many questions distracted from the presentation

Stream.15904 Joe Wilson, 08 Feb 03:25 PM

Very smooth presentation style. Bugs were small and quickly fixed. The ~400 people watching have all been there and understand and appreciate a code-only presentation. It's a shame time ran out on the JavaScript refactoring - it was really warming up!

Stream.15475 David Longnecker, 08 Feb 03:26 PM

Great content, but covering so many questions midstream made it a bit difficult to follow. The intro to templating was brilliant--thanks Eric.

Avatar-missing-icon-05 Brett Slaski, 08 Feb 03:34 PM

I fund the content useful and picked up some useful tidbits. The presenter had a problem finishing on time. Perhaps too much time on questions?

Avatar-missing-icon-03 MarkE, 08 Feb 03:35 PM

Very good presentation on refactoring Ajax to be DRY-er in MVC.

Avatar-missing-icon-08 Rob Rowe, 08 Feb 03:55 PM

The lag was detrimental to the talk. I did find the talk useful.

Avatar-missing-icon-03 Peter Marriott, 08 Feb 04:04 PM

Shame too much time on questions. But good style

Avatar-missing-icon-03 csell5, 08 Feb 04:25 PM

great stuff!

Avatar-missing-icon-03 Nolan St. Martin, 08 Feb 06:07 PM

Great content and presentation, but I think it needed more than an hour (as he ran out of time at the end.) There were a lot of questions and good answers which took up a lot of time.

Avatar-missing-icon-08 lcranf, 08 Feb 06:37 PM

Great presentation on jquery/ajax and templates

Avatar-missing-icon-10 Jaco Pretorius, 08 Feb 06:40 PM

I know it's very difficult to find a balance here, but I thought too much time was spent on question. The content was very good tho. And the questions that were answered were done so very well. Good job!

Avatar-missing-icon-04 fred, 08 Feb 06:53 PM

good talk

Avatar-missing-icon-08 Josh Dean, 08 Feb 07:32 PM

This has made me much more confident in my writing an API library in JavaScript, as well as given me a few new ideas on further making my JavaScript more reusable. Thank you!

Take fewer questions in the middle of the presentation. It breaks the flow too much.

Stream.23461 Dennis Palmer, 08 Feb 11:24 PM

Would definitely have benefited from having a moderator to keep track of the incoming questions. Only wish we could have gotten all the way through your content. Great presentation and very helpful!

Avatar-missing-icon-01 Marc, 09 Feb 07:18 AM

Yes, he took too many questions, but remember he was moderating it himself... Overall very helpful, wish he had another 30 minutes.

Same as most people - too much time on live questions resulting in loss of content. Delivery was excellent.
