I really liked the examples of the patterns - remote controls and Wookies! Now we know who let the Wookie into the conference. ;) Mike does a great job of relating patterns to everyday objects and things we can relate to. And he showed code even though we weren't supposed to!
All in all, this was an awesome presentation, and if you get a chance to see, you will definitely get a better understanding of patterns.

This talk promotes an idea I firmly stand behind: patterns are not scary. Using a dash of humor and a lack of arrogance, Mike really makes these ideas accessible. Great job!

One of the two sessions to actually show code in the presentation, Mike Wood talked about Design Patterns, and how important, time-saving, and relevant they are in today's applications. Mike has a great presentation style, and I enjoy hearing him speak. This was no exception.

I loved this talk! Mike is a great speaker and in 25 minutes, he gave us samples of the Adapter and Command patterns. If you get a chance to see either his full session or an abbreviated version, you will not be disappointed.
