Description:

Sure, all the cool kids are using Node for their real time projects. Why should they have all the fun? Learn event-based programming, ruby style. Now with more (Ruby 1.9) Fiber! By the end of this talk you'll learn a bit about MongoDB and a lot about asynchronous programming in Ruby using Eventmachine. We'll build a simple event-driven MongoDB-back ruby network service and have it flinging bits faster than the time it takes to read Javascript: The Good Parts.
