Description:

HTML and CSS the last thing that you have to deal with in developing your apps? Do you have a hard time communicating with your designers? Looking to get agile with your UI? Suffer from inconsistent UI and spaghetti code code all over the place? When in doubt, you default to add more CSS?

Come hear Dale Sande, UI Engineer for Getty Images, speak about how using metalanguage technologies like SASS and .LESS to develop a UI Pattern Library has reduced the frustrations felt between designers and developers. Tie that in with Modular Web Design concepts and OOCSS best practices and you have a recipe for WIN in the enterprise as well as small businesses.

This was really great, dude. Wish I could have stayed through the very end. With that in mind, my only suggestion would be to reduce the time spent pouring through the specific HTML/CSS of those two promo box examples, and just present a fairly quick summary of the "current situation."

Then dive right into the good stuff – the how & why of OOCSS, Sass/Less, UI Pattern Library, etc. Seemed like it took 45-60 minutes to get into that stuff, but when you finally did it was great info.

@Matt - I 100% agree ;) I am finding that my topic is pretty huge and could be broken up into possibly 3 individual tracks. 'Better HTML for the WIN', ' OOCSS', and 'OOCSS + SASS => WIN'

I guess I feel that I have only one chance to sell the audience and I want to tell the whole story. But I fear I am losing people in that process as well.

Thinking thinking thinking. Thanks for the feedback.
