Tim,
Thanks for the feedback. I've been giving "cloud" related talks for a couple of years now and it's always a bit of a struggle to decide where to aim the content - I often am told that I'm spending too much time on introductory information whereas others, like yourself, wish I would provide a better foundation before launching into other parts of the talk. Your comment is a good reminder that I need to keep working on this aspect of the presentation.
On the "hands on" part... I'm curious as to what you feel might have been helpful? Specifically, would you like to have seen some machines started? A nothing-to-deployed tech platform? Coding examples? etc?
Thanks again for the feedback.

Rob,
Thanks for giving the talk. I picked up some interesting tidbits about AWS, but I was lost for about half of the talk because I'm not familiar with the AWS jargon or products. It would have been helpful to give a brief description of the various Amazon products - you did flash up a screen of about 16 different products, and you described a couple of them, which was helpful, but it would have been nice to have gone over some more of them. For someone like myself who is not intimately familiar with AWS, the talk was difficult to follow.
Also, I would recommend changing the title. I saw the title of 'Hands On', which made me think that the talk would involve a demo of creating or building something on AWS, or at least walk us through some of the AWS websites or tools. When I see 'Hands On', I assume we'll look at something other than just slides, so I felt like the title was a little misleading.
Nonetheless, thanks for the presentation!
Tim
