Good presentation, I've enjoyed it very much!
Elasticsearch looks promising, REST interface is nice, but not sure about the added value in comparison to sphinx+ts. Must give it a try.

I think the main value elastic search adds over sphinx is that it is not tied to your database that closely. Plus advanced analysis features lige n-gram tokenization and all the stemmers from the huge lucene / solr ecosystem...
Would have liked it even more if it wasn't so ElasticSearch related, but still very interesting and thought-provoking.
