Great presentation (as always), but the talk had the same problem a lot of FOWD '08 had: it had to appeal to a really wide audience, and in doing so, was a little light on the specifics. Probably a great intro for beginning web designers, but I would've liked to have heard Patrick's thoughts on the new web standards for more experienced designers/builders.

Good point, Doug. I think I, like many speakers, found myself catering more to the general crowd rather than try and hit on some specifics at the cost of going over some people's heads. Looking back, I probably should've gone into a few real world examples, even if it meant showing a tiny bit of code that some may not have understood.

Thanks for the constructive criticism, I really do appreciate it. And I'll keep this in mind for the next time I speak at an event, whether it's FOWD or not.
