Lots of stats and graphs for a first speak on the second day. Great speaker though.

Too many graph & stats info - not enough detailed info on what is really coming up!

I agree with the previous comments. "We've fixed the bug triage process" is a fabulous achievement for the team, and it gives us more confidence in the long-term viability of the project, but as a UI keynote, I expected at least one "OMGWTFBBQ did you just see that!?" moment.
I would have liked to see some demos of upcoming widgets/themeroller, or some examples of how the API is becoming more sane.

While interesting, the presentation wasn't of Keynote caliber. I got bored and drifted off to reading about hardware acceleration of CSS 3D transforms.

I think Richard did well as a speaker, but the presentation had essentially no content that wouldn't have worked just as well without a presentation. Large portions of the talk centered around, i.e. the average number of fixes per point-release, whose only purpose was to illustrate changes in jQuery UI's release philosophy that could have been (and later were) summarized in a sentence or two.
The talk would have been improved by condensing it into one or two slides, or at least moving through the full set of slides at a very brisk pace, given that we can easily review that denser information post-conference.
The remaining time could have then been used to demo in-progress widgets, and provide insights into future widget-related plans, themeroller improvements, and how members of the community could get involved in the process beyond fixing bugs.

The bright yellow slides were not enough to make the JQuery UI version history interesting for an entire session. Though a decent speaker, the content was basically the JQuery UI changelog.

It was like a presentation by a head of department in a big tech corporation to its senior management team. I can't imagine why anyone thought this presentation was appropriate for the audience at this conference.
