Description:

There are many strange beasts in the Ruby language. Some of them you might never have seen. Others you might have seen but not understood.

Ruby is a big language, and this presentation will show you some of the corners of Ruby that you might not have known about, or even dared think would exist in a modern language. Some of these features are useful, some of them are useless and some of them are just downright puzzling. Come here to get a tasting of the weirder parts of Ruby.

Really, really fast coverage of a lot of material. Would love to spend a few hours with this material, and I'm looking forward to getting the slides.

A bit hard to follow for noobs, but full of tips, tricks and gotchas.

Tons of content, like drinking from a firehose.

Really enjoyable dive into some of the lesser known aspects of Ruby. Would have liked a more refined slide deck. The frenetic clicking through some slides pointed out the slides that were superfluous or could easily merge into existing slide.

90% of the presentation consisted of him talking about obscure Ruby functions that nobody has ever heard of then telling us that we should probably never use them.

Lot of material presented at a rate I couldn't begin to assimilate. Had the impression there was important material there, but I couldn't prove it, because I didn't even have time to read some of the slides.

Not the most useful stuff, but it's always interesting to see some of the weird stuff hanging out in the corners of Ruby.

Great stuff. A little too jam packed at times. Wish you had more time.
