Open 2.0: Transparency and Open Access to information
About the Event
October 19, 2010
University of Kentucky
In the last two decades huge changes have taken place in the amount of information available openly - first thanks to the Internet and now thanks to mobile technology. Along with that, we have explosive growth in the way we can share this information - first e-mail, then blogs, then social media, then mobile applications. The event speakers will explore how the availability of open, shared, free informational resources is changing various industries and occupations - media, education, government, software development, web development, and activism, to name just a few.
