Paul Copcutt Claimed Profile
Personal Brand Strategist at Square PegDundas, ON, Canada
About Paul Copcutt
Paul Copcutt first recognised the personal branding term after reading Tom Peters 'Brand You 50" in the late 90's and soon realised that many of the actions and suggestions that Peters wrote about were exactly what he had been doing through a corporate career that started in banking and ended in biotech - ironically two subjects that he would not place at the top of his academic achievements – it took two attempts to pass his Math ‘O’ level and his biology teacher even had him labeled as an idiot!
He is Canada’s leading personal brand consultant, combining a passion for people and branding with a realization that strengths and specialization are the keys to success, he guides his clients to that outcome. His own specialty is to leverage his unique communication skills and genuine caring approach to support successful professionals and executives who are technically very good at what they do, but need others to know that so they can get their next great opportunity.
As a leading Reach certified personal brand strategist globally his clients have been profiled in the likes of Elle and he is a much sought after speaker and media resource, having been quoted by Reuters and The Wall Street Journal as well as most major Canadian press including The Globe & Mail, The National Post , The Sun and Toronto Star. He has also contributed articles to Personal Branding Magazine and various professional publications, has appeared in career books for his personal brand expertise and has given numerous audio and video interviews.
Awarded Outstanding Canadian Career Leader by the Career Professionals of Canada one of Paul's brand attributes identified in his Reach 360 assessment, was connecting - something that he does naturally as well as through social media including LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. He is also a regular contributor to online resources including HigherBracket.ca Canada's only $100k job board, #1 for over 3 years on Career/Training at MarketingProfs.com forum and several blogs - the award winning CareerHub blog, The Personal Branding Blog, MarketYourselfSmarter.com , CoachSpotlight and his own popular Just My Toonies Worth raising donations $2 at a time sharing his personal branding knowledge in order to deliver youth personal branding programs.
Paul is also committed and passionate about the future of Canada and the youth that will be taking that responsibility forward and is actively involved as a specialist with the non-profit Youth in Motion and their Top 20 Under 20 program.
