One feature of HTML5 is the ability to directly embed SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics). Using inline SVG, JavaScript, and CSS, we were able to create an easily editable, customizable, and extensible interactive library floor plan.

The presentation will provide an overview of SVG, including different methods for creating an SVG file. We’ll discuss how we used JavaScript and CSS to add functionality and style to our library floor plan. Lastly, we’ll talk about how we are using/plan on using the floor plan with other library systems, e.g. catalog, mobile site, and room reservation system.
