Unraku is a studio in Toronto that specializes in producing puppetry for film and the web. In just two short years we've quickly grown from an informal group of puppeteers and puppet builders working in each other's living rooms to a dynamic multidisciplinary team of over a dozen artists drawn from Toronto, Quebec and the United States based out of a 1,700 sq ft professional workshop and production studio.
In this presentation we'll share the story of how we met and built our team as well as some of the lessons we've learned along the way. We'll also discuss the pros and cons of creative collaboration online and why Star Trek was right about infinite diversity in infinite combinations.
