People have different ways of thinking about testing. Some focus on the regression aspect: later when I make a change, can I tell if I broke something? Some think it's a waste. Some test after they've written their code. Some write all the tests first, using them to think through the problems they are facing.
Automated testing has some cases where it's worthless and some cases where it's not. This talk is aimed at those that don't use automated testing much and wonder what all the hoopla is about, helping to find the line between when to test and when not to.
