This case study examines the challenges faced by a pair of Scrum Masters who were assigned to transform a client’s IT Development team over to Scrum, while leading and managing a software development project that had “extreme” time constraints. Senior Management was not part of, or supportive of the decision to switch to Agile, and still demanded weekly updates that included waterfall artifacts and reporting. The team developed a method of managing the project that provided the Senior Managers with reports, which met their needs and shielded the development team from the struggle of doing Scrum in a waterfall organization.
