Bitcoin, as almost anyone who's been reading the news can tell you, is some kind of newfangled money whose value fluctuates wildly. Specifically, it's an open-source peer-to-peer protocol and cryptocurrency. But what does that actually mean?

In this talk, we'll show you how cryptocurrency like Bitcoin works; the limitations and advantages of physical money over digital currency, and vice versa; and describe why anyone might want to use it or care about it.
