In this session Jakob will demonstrate the concepts and ideas behind Oracle "new" development stack: Fusion Middleware with focus on ADF Faces. The strength of ADF Faces is its strong proven programming model, combined with a vivid interface solely delivered by standard HTTP - no applets involved. Forms without the lock-in of the server core and the Java applet, and with an interface which can rival real c/s based applications. In the session Jakob will present similarities and differences between Oracle Forms and the ADF framework. You will need hands-on knowledge of Oracle Forms and Oracle database functionality, as well as a basic knowledge of webbased java applications and Ajax. Some of the session will use the ASH tables as data source to demonstrate the application of ADF technology to a traditional administrator based work area. While SQL*plus is a Swiss knife for administrators, it seldom brings workable insight to the decision makers. ADF Faces will.
