As designers, we seek to understand a customer’s needs, and how to delight them. But how well do we recognize our own biases in our work? There is a tension in striving toward the “right” design that just works homogeneously across devices, services, applications and platforms versus the diversity of choice—allowing for tailoring of experiences that is appropriate for a variety of task and individual tastes. What choices do we make as design thinkers and makers to create the right balance for our customers?
