Title: Disaster at the Podium: Speaking Tips and Horror Stories for the IT Professional
Abstract: Studies indicate that most people would rather face physical harm than stand up before a group of strangers and give a presentation. It doesn’t have to be that way. In this session, Kevin will show you some worst-case scenarios when giving presentations and the solution to those worse cases. You will achieve these goals by attending this session:
· Goal 1: Learn how to plan, prepare for, and deliver your presentation all while keeping cool and rational.
· Goal 2: Understand the techniques that elevate a horrible slide deck that degrades the value of the presentation into an aid that makes the presentation invaluable.
· Goal 3: Learn quick tips on how to build attractive and informative slide decks using Microsoft PowerPoint, including art and images sources, animations, and putting “rhythm” into your slides.
