During the 1st Era of computing, applications were anchored in time and place with software written for specific platforms and scheduled to perform work when needed. We're now in the midst of the 2nd Era, where cloud application software is increasingly decoupled from underlying physical infrastructures, is run globally, and responds to events as needed.

Jonathan Murray (@Adamathus) calls the 3rd Era of Computing 'The Metaform - The platform of Everything'.(http://www.adamalthus.com/blog/2015/01/08/the-metaform-the-platform-of-everything/) In this era beyond the cloud, code will once and for all be liberated from the constraints of time and place, opening the door to a real-time, insight-driven, composable future.

Murray will outline the broad implications of this composable future, where businesses unlock fully the value of their core capabilities and new businesses are increasingly constructed from parts available from a global service marketplace. Murray will discuss the technological, operational, and strategic challenges enterprises will need to overcome to survive and profit from this coming transformation.
