As a global information and measurement company, Nielsen has always relied on data -- and in the last few years, the organization's IT infrastructure team has learned to address data on many different fronts, using it to create new business opportunities. Not only has Nielsen shifted its strategy to encompass online and mobile markets, it has also consolidated and virtualized its data center infrastructure to provide more responsive and economical resources. The company has also transformed its backup and data protection strategy.
In this session, Alex Patent, Vice President and Global Infrastructure Architecture Leader for Nielsen, will discuss the challenges and successes of managing a storage-intensive business on the cusp of great change. He'll also talk about how to streamline infrastructure while still planning for innovation.
