Anyone who has worked with legacy code has felt the pain of staring at the screen trying to figure out the classic developer question: How did this ever work? It turns out that compilers aren't the only one we should be optimizing code for. Your team will produce higher quality software with ease if you are all speaking the same syntactical language. Even in a one man project, present you needs to be able to communicate with future you. Developers can communicate by using conventions, syntax, and predictable architectures. So start communicating well so that you can talk less!
