SPACE-MAKING FOR THE OVERWHELMED DO-GOODER

A talk by Beck Tench at edUi 2015

About the Talk

We are purpose-burdened and too busy. We go through our lists and we attend meetings and we volley back and forth emails dutifully and/or apologetically, rinse and repeat. But where do our efforts take us? How do we feel about it? Where do we find clarity? What drives our choices?

In this session, Beck will invite attendees to cultivate a practice of contemplation in their professional lives. She will share space-making strategies that have worked for her and her colleagues and students. Together, we will explore what to do with the space we make — how to cultivate noticing and use ritual to create, contemplate, and connect with others and nature — so that our work reflects our values and a deeper sense of who we are.
