Jakarta, Indonesia - Each company needs ‘literature’ for their marketing strategies. This includes brochures, presentations, event catalogues, letterheads, specification sheets, case histories and even positive and negative reviews regarding your business.

With the increased availability of desktop applications, printers and other devices that can help any company in publishing their own marketing materials, marketing materials would rather create their own ‘literature’ internally.

“It would only show how cheap your company is. If you want to market your brand and gain popularity and eventually attract potential customers, you have to work for it. That means you need to invest into a lot of marketing efforts”, says Louis Bourdain, TPG marketing director. He added, “It is enough hardwork in creating good services and products that the people would put interest in. Businesses should only focus on that and not add to their troubles in struggling with their own marketing unless their business is indeed marketing”.

Here are some of the following tips you can do with dealing with your ‘literature’ problems:

  1. Get a Logo and Stationary Designed professionally

Do this and don’t change it for 10 years. Of course, before you get stuck with your logo, you have to fully consider what it would be. Do not try this yourself, no matter how artistic you are. You can either hire a designer or a studio/graphic artist. Professionals will make sure your stationary materials reflect your company’s personality while maintaining a cool and professional look. They will look good in color and in black and white; they'll reproduce well in smaller sizes; they'll fax clearly; and they'll simply be more attractive than what you can expect to do yourself.

  1. Learn Graphic Design Principles

Professional graphic designing principles may take a lifetime to learn as designs are ever evolving but some reading can help greatly.

• Keep the look clean and simple. Do not overload the reader visually. Most people nowadays are minimalist • Use heads and subheads to lead the reader. • Use white space. Along with keeping your prints simple, you should take advantage of the blank spaces as a breather. Your readers would also need to digest all the information that you have just provided and the white spaces provide that.
