Linux can be found in everything including consumer DVD players, the world's top supercomputers, and real time control systems. While Linux has proven itself to be a flexible general purpose Operating System base, the virtualization landscape is dominated today by custom Operating Systems known as Hypervisors.
This talk will provide an overview of KVM and QEMU, which together add the ability for Linux to play the role of a hypervisor. It will compare and contrast the benefits of Linux as a hypervisor verses other hypervisors such as Xen, VMware, and Hyper-V.
