Las Vegas, NV
Las Vegas, NVJRuby has made Ruby on the JVM a reality. It has also opened up a whole new world of opportunities to Ruby and Rails developers. Built atop a world-class VM, JRuby has an easier path to excellent performance. The ability to access Java libraries expands Ruby’s reach and potential. And the lack of agility in the old-school, “enterprisey” Java world means real opportunities for Ruby and Rails developers. JRuby is here to stay.
Since last year, JRuby usage has grown tremendously. We’ve also published more than a dozen releases, fixed hundreds of bugs, and committed thousands of revisions. In this session we’ll update you on JRuby performance in real applications, show you what real people are using it for like GUIs and games, and demonstrate how JRuby is improving the Ruby world.
