The .NET BackgroundWorker component is the bread and butter of asynchronous processing. It provides valuable marshaling functionality that make it relatively easy to update UI components during and at the end of processing.
Unfortunately, the BackgroundWorker architecture is outmoded, and the syntax/code overhead to implement it is unduly burdensome.
This brief session will demonstrate some benefits and techniques for wrapping up BackgroundWorker's complexity and re-exposing its functionality in reusable components with cleaner, simpler interfaces.
