With the introduction of the HTML5 audio and video elements, we are no longer tied to plugins for delivering rich media … to an extent.

There are many nuances and caveats to working with HTML5 media. For example, while most current browsers have support for the HTML5 media elements, there is a large percentage of the browsers in use that are better served by a plugin. And if that isn't enough, you have to supply different media types for different browsers.

Local developer Jason Nakai will give you the knowledge to work with HTML5 audio and video, while still reaching a broad audience of browsers and users. Jason will cover:

Custom controls
Pitfalls to avoid
How to fallback to Flash gracefully
